Columbus Downtown Development Corporation
DCI built a downtown marketing strategy, elevating both a new museum and its community development.
Columbus Downtown Development Corporation sought to introduce the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM) to a national audience to bolster its Columbus Downtown marketing plan. DCI’s strategy helped accomplish both goals.
The Challenge
Columbus, OH, sought to boost its reputation among both visitors and investors in its downtown area and called on DCI to help. With the nonprofit Columbus Veterans Museum itching to make headlines, the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation and DCI saw the chance for synergy and created a strategy to publicize it. The opening would be a chance to tell the Downtown Columbus redevelopment story and help revitalize the district, if the media helped spread the message.
The Solution
Experts in the field, DCI’s team knows the role of museums in economic development and how these seemingly disparate entities can work together. To achieve their goals, DCI implemented an aggressive earned media campaign to increase awareness of the Columbus Veterans Museum grand opening and promote the launch as an example of the tremendous progress among downtown business owners, stakeholders and the downtown district as a whole.
The Results
-
