40 Under 40 Winners

Meet The Class of 2025
The 40 Under 40 Awards are an economic development initiative that DCI sponsors in partnership with Jorgenson Pace, Inc. Every two years, we take submissions from influential leaders in the economic development profession who are working to support their communities, organizations and the industry itself. A selection committee sorts through the nominations and selects 40 young leaders or entrepreneurs who have demonstrated strong leadership, innovation and forward-thinking. The award winners are celebrated and recognized at the IEDC Leadership Summit for their excellence in economic development.

Michaeljohn Green
Michaeljohn is inspired by ‘The Color of Law’ by Richard Rothstein, which provides insight into how segregation in America is the byproduct of explicit government policies and challenges him to right the scales and provide opportunity in his community.

Senior Director of Industry Development
Empire State Development
Allison Stark
Allison is inspired by the song ‘Hakuna Matata’ from The Lion King, which reflects her belief that while life has challenges, anything can be overcome.

Alison Turner
Alison is inspired by ‘The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze’ by William Saroyan, a collection of short stories that speak to the role of creative people within the economy, the assets and challenges that come with being an immigrant, and the beauty in things we often classify as distinctly unbeautiful.
